                          Jubilee

                          Because not everyone's the same!

The Jubilee riser recliner chair is handmade to measure here in the UK, and comes with a choice of fabrics, motors and other options such as washable arm rest covers, memory and pressure cushions, heat and massage etc. Should you wish to go ahead delivery and installation in your home is normally 2 to 3 weeks from order.

Single Motor Wall-Hugger: This is a very clever design allowing the chair to sit just 3 - 4 inches from a wall, and yet still recline. The whole chair moves gently forward once your feet have been lifted, then the backrest goes back into what we call the TV Position. When you want it to rise the button that puts your footrest down, and once away, also picks you up, you can stop at any height you wish, or go all the way.

Dual motor: Allows the backrest and footrest to be moved independently of each other. Once again the button that puts your feet down picks you up (but only when your feet are firmly back on the ground) please see Bespoke Chair for dual motor video.

An important feature of the chair is the relationship between the footrest and seat. When the footrest is raised it is higher than the seat, this clever piece of design helps reduce or eliminate water retention to the feet and ankles.

The Jubilee prices start at £995 for the single motor wall-hugger, with your choice of proper British Jubilee fabrics. so whether you choose subtle, or something to make a statement, the choice is yours. Come along and see them, and try for yourself. If you'd like you can upgrade the fabrics to the designer range and have a Jubilee Chair just to your liking, including two toning - the upgrade costs just £80 See bespoke chairs for more information on designer fabrics, or call in store and see the samples for yourself. (the last image gives you an idea of how a two tone Jubilee may look depending on colour, fabric choice, patterned, striped, check etc.) You can borrow the samples to take home so that you have the chance to compare to other furnishings, and make the perfect choice.

Because we aren't all the same size, these riser recliner chairs are made to measure. Why is this so important?

Seat Width, if a chair width is too wide we all tend to compensate by sitting sideways on it, resting against one of the arms. This is probably ok for an active person who's getting up and down for cups of tea etc. but for someone spending a lot of time in the chair it is clearly wrong, as this bad posture will cause aches and pains, and potentially longer term damage.

Seat height is important for spreading the load, easing pressure. If the height is too low then ones knees tend to be quite high, leaving a gap where support should be, the body weight is spread over a smaller area, thus increasing pressure. If the height is too high there will be too much pressure under the knee potentially causing blood flow problems for the user.

Seat depth is another important factor dictating posture and pressure displacement. If the depth is too deep then the user will feel the chair pushing into the calf, automatically we compensate by moving forwards, of course as soon as we do this we will notice curvature of the spine, which is a really poor posture position. If the seat depth is too short, then we see the body weight being distributed over a smaller area, again increasing pressure with potential risks of further aches, pains or ulcers.

Back height is not as important or critical as the three measurements mentioned earlier, but really helps with comfort when positioning the head to a particular part of a cushion for example.

We can measure you in store actually in a chair, or if this isn't an option we can come to you.

As an option we also have a range of 4 way stretch, pressure relieving, waterproof fabrics should this be useful.

Actual swatch colours will vary from time to time subject to availability.
